New Starbucks® store creates eight local jobs in Egham

Wednesday 26 April 2023, UK: A new Starbucks® store, operated by licensee Cobra Coffee, opened today in Egham creating eight new local jobs.

The store is in Liberty House, part of the Magna Square redevelopment, and named as a tribute to the Magna Carta which was sealed nearby in 1215.

To celebrate the opening, the store will be offering 50 lucky customers complimentary reusable cups during the first week.

Cristiano Sobral, Cobra Coffee District Manager, said: “I started my career as a barista before I progressed to District Manager over the years. So it gives me pride to be able to open up new doors to new communities and support the development and progression our brand new team in Egham.”

The new store opens up on to the traffic free boulevard at Magna Square which is part of Runnymede Borough Council’s town centre regeneration project and has several green credentials, including highly efficient thermal insulation, low energy lighting and solar-controlled glazing.

Cobra Coffee is part of Southern Co-op, which was recognised for its sustainability efforts with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2022.

To reduce food waste, the new store will offer Too Good To Go – a leading surplus food app connecting customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold food.

Council Chief Executive, Paul Turrell said: “Starbucks is a very welcome new addition to Magna Square and Egham Town Centre. I am sure that residents will be pleased to see this exciting new offer.”

Customers are invited to enjoy the Iced Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso and Starbucks® UK proudly serves a broad range of dairy alternative options for free. Customers can also try Starbucks® Eggs Bites now available with Red Pepper and Spinach.

With a selection of indoor seating, the store offers customers the opportunity to enjoy a handcrafted cup of coffee and relax with free wi-fi. Customers can order via the Starbucks UK App, available for iPhone® and Android™, to order ahead, skip the queue and collect to takeaway. Delivery will also be fully available within the month to all customers via Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
